Update on the Homestays

While we were out shopping in Aix, the teachers ran into Tim from Parkway South and his host brother, Julien. They were visiting the same souvenir candy store that we were, and the unexpected encounter gave us a wonderful opportunity to see how Tim was doing with his family stay.




Tim told us in French that he and his family were doing a lot of fun activities. They had visited the mountain, gone bike riding, went to school, watched a soccer match on television and explored Aix-en-Provence. Tim looked like he was having a terrific time! What was great was his total use of French in his conversation with us. He spoke confidently! And we discovered that while Tim uses French everywhere, Julien, his host brother uses English with him in order to practice too! It's a super speaking exchange that helps both of them develop confidence in the foreign language. Hooray, Tim! We're thrilled that your family stay is so awesome!
