When we started at the metro and got our tickets and route so that we could got to Les Champs-Elysees. Since it was rush hour, the trains were very crowded, but everybody arrived safe and sound.
At the Champs-Elysees, students had some free time to shop and visit some amazing sights. We were very close to the Arc de Triumph, so some of the students elected to go to the top to see the view.
Before we separated, the teachers gave instructions about when to return, the importance of staying in groups of three, and information about what to see in the area. Students were well-informed before they left the big group!
The top of the Arc de Triumph provides some great views of the city.
It was fun to enjoy Paris from a different angle with the other tourists.
Wow! The view of Sacre Coeur is breath-taking. It was a beautiful (a little chilly) day in Paris as we explored on our first day.
After visiting the Champs-Elysees, we met again at our designated spot to take the metro to the Latin Quarter for dinner. There were lots of fabulous cafes and restaurants to eat at for a good price.
Once dinner was over, students had to go back to the metro and buy a pack of 10 tickets for our Paris visit. The metro is the easiest way around the city if you don't have a car, so this 10 ticket purchase is a great deal.
40 students and teachers buying tickets makes a very long line, though. So, we had to do a little waiting before we could get back on the train and head to our hotel.
Once we got to the hotel, we went back to our rooms to go to bed. What a long but wonderful day! Tomorrow we visit the Louvre! Can't wait!
