Versailles Palace

We headed to Versailles to see Louis XIV's magnificent palace.

The crowds weren't too bad, but we still had to wait a little before the groups could go in to see the rooms. That gave us plenty of time to take photos of the exterior of the palace.

When we entered the palace, we were amazed by the luxury. Louis XIV lived a very opulent lifestyle, continued by his grandsons, Louis XV and Louis XVI. Nobles attended them in their bedrooms as the kings woke up every morning.

The famous Galerie de Glaces was full of tourists. In the times of the French kings, nobles would wait here as the king would conduct royal business.

A few movies have been filmed at Versailles. "Marie Antoinette" by Sofia Coppola was filmed as well as an older French movie named "Ridicule."

At the end of the visit, we met at Louis XIV statue to regroup before the train.

The station was very crowded, so we had to hurry to get on board.

After Versailles, students had another opportunity to go out into Paris for dinner. Then they could head back to the hotel by 10:30 p.m. Students are doing a great job following the schedule!
